Staying Faithful Through the Journey

In Colossians 2:6-7 we find these words that Paul wrote to the Christians in Colosse: “Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.”  He simply states that they had received Christ and needed to walk in Him.  That walk would include being rooted, built up, established; all with overflowing gratitude.  Rooted is an action that has been completed in the past but will have a continued result.  Being established in the faith is to be rooted in the teachings of Christ.  Both are done with an attitude of gratitude.  Here at the Mt. Vernon church of Christ we are striving to be Rooted in Christ and Faithful Through the Journey.
